Joyce is a Certified Virtual Presenter

Why is Being a Certified Virtual Presenter Important?

Why is the certifier so picky? The CVP badge, tells the world that they can expect a high-quality remote experience with you. Besides this, you are free from technical issues. If we’re not picky, that standard becomes lower and dilutes the value of the certification for everyone.

To receive a virtual certification badge, all required tests must be passed.

The following optional items are self-reported:

  • Good use of visual aids.
  • Improved mic usage such as a lav, headset, or another dedicated mic.
  • Tested daytime lighting.
  • Usage of audience Q&A or chat during a presentation.
  • Usage of polls and questions during a presentation.
  • Breakout room usage.
  • Backup internet access.

How to Use Constructive Feedback

detroitWhat is the one responsibility you probably avoid more than any other at work? Giving constructive feedback. Not giving constructive feedback is destructive. As long as you have constructive feedback to offer, you still believe things can improve. When you stop giving feedback, you have given up on your ability to think. Weiss says companies that discourage honest feedback are jeopardizing their ability to serve their customers. In addition to their ability to meet competition.

Learning to give constructive feedback takes trust. Also, trust is what builds good teams, the ones that succeed at work.

As the economy stutters Generation Xers discover there’s no place like Moms.  They look for work, dig out of debt, or try to save on rent. Both sides face hurdles. “If the expectations aren’t discussed, the relationship will deteriorate like a bad marriage,” says Joyce Weiss. “The economy has changed, and it’s a new situation. But some may be moving back because of immaturity, and they just don’t realize it. In fact, parents aren’t always the best role models financially. How can they give their kids a lecture without looking in the mirror first?

CONSULTANT JOYCE WEISS advises unmotivated salespeople to get out of their safe comfort zones. She also suggests that they reevaluate the way they do business.”When things aren’t going well, it’s easy to blame the marketplace or the economy. You have to stop whining. Look in the mirror and force yourself to squarely address the problem. Also, brainstorm for solutions.” Remember this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Standing in your own sunshine causes most of the shadows in our life.”

csw10 Tips to Keep Motivated Employees

In many companies, work has become a place of disillusionment. Employees start with enthusiasm and creativity. After this, day after day they feel more helpless as if they don’t have any real choices anymore.

Employees are overwhelmed, exhausted, and bored. They feel like they have been shot down. Complaining and ridiculing others becomes the norm. The “romance” is gone.

If this scenario sounds like your company, don’t despair. Deep down, employees are begging to gain a sense of hope and enthusiasm again. Subsequently, they need your help. Follow these ten tips. You will not only notice attitude shifts and real changes in behavior. Give it a shot, and watch the fun return:

  1. Walk Your Talk.
  2. Be Supportive.
  3. Lead with Vision.
  4. Use Straight Talk.
  5. Build Supportive Teams.
  6. Encourage Creativity and Laugh at Mistakes.
  7. Empower Employees to Feel Liberated.
  8. Help Employees Feel Comfortable with Change.
  9. Insist That Employees Always Keep The Customer in Mind.
  10. Keep Employees Focused on Their Cheerleaders and Fans.

This philosophy is right on, according to Joyce Weiss, a communication coach based in Michigan. Her job is to go into companies and show them how to have fun. Because she says, employees that play together work better.

“Just when companies think they need to put the employee training aside is a time when they need it most,” Weiss says. “You need to support one another, and this is how you do it.”

Key Interpersonal Skills in the Workplace: Cooperation & Respect

Strong relationships with those you work with will help you succeed in the workplace. Additionally, you will increase productivity for your business. Two interpersonal skills that will develop these relationships are cooperation and respect. Joyce Weiss offers this advice and more in The Insider, the weekly e-newsletter of the American Bus Association, to managers and employees of the motorcoach travel and tourism industry.” Read at the ABA website.
